AT and T - Their CEO is just like a DC or Darius and is not known for any generosity to employees. They want to get their acquisition of TWC through and just got a big reward with the FCC overturn of net-neutrality.
Over the holidays, read this website threads for these companies and see what they are saying. You'll see they are saying what I am. It's too obvious.

You can see the trend, the corporations who are announcing bonuses very much like a DC or Darius.
Comcast - Now owns NBC, also got their way with the overturn of "net-neutrality", and will get a big windfall when they start charging you much more for internet access.
Wells Fargo - The mob of banking, now again has charges against it for fraudulent business practices Wants to grease the wheel to lessen the penalty or evade it altogether
It's just too easy PR for them to miss out on.
Anyway, you all have a great Holiday Season and forget about Honeywell for a week, unless they make you take your laptop home.

The Honeywell bonus was just announced. They're going to temporarily suspend the rules and allow you to work from home, on Christmas day, for free, on a project abandoned by a recent RIF victim. The only caveat is there will be no eggnog allowed. Happy Holidays!

And furthermore the AT&T bonus is to provide PR to the Trump Administration to give them something to brag about, to gain favor to get the Time Warner merger to go through. The CEO is betting his job on it.
Your severance is your bonus if you got that "reward".
Guaranteed AT&T only is giving that bonus as a PR move and to throw a bone to the employees to get them to support the tax cut package, before they "give them the real bone" (without lube).
