@ehm I would never expect a store to be open on that day. I would go in if it was a semi early shift and it was holiday pay. Also if the store was closed with no customers making it an easy day for easy money.

That's why I put "volunteer" in quotes. Nothing is ever on a voluntary basis in this company. Just like how they use all those "volunteers" on thanksgiving.

I wd not volunteer to come in Christmas Day to do any sign changes. That’s just making the manager look good prob working on his big fat bonus!

The only holiday I'm guaranteed off anymore...

One more day... We're almost there. Will be very glad when 4:30pm comes and I'm done with this part of retail life for the year! (And my wish to have the day after Christmas off came true, so kind of glad about that!)

Not everyone gets Monday off. Some store managers bring in a "volunteer" crew on Christmas Day for recovery and sign changes. Also kmart stores in Hawaii have been open on Christmas Day for 25 years.
