If you are capable engineer you would have already been away from this company. Since that is not the case you should not be complaining loudly how terrible the company is but instead you should be thinking how to improve it.
Wow unions and workers right guy or girl is brilliant and said everything I believe but far more eloquently than I could have. Keep on!
Nice article. Somewhere someone knows if your job is safe or not. But you don't. What hurts is you are completely helpless and are puppets of forces beyond your control. In large corporations restructuring is based on some macrologic which might look utterly illogical at worker levels. When workers don't have any rights and are considered as pawns in a number game controlled by rich capitalists up the pyramid what results is injustice. It is high time that people should start thinking of worker unions which help regulate these blood letting forces. The capitalist propoganda has instilled in the worker bees a consciousness that unions and worker rights are relics of a failed socialistic system and adoptadopting such measures would result in less iinnovation less profits. Management and worker engineers are indoctrinated with this belief system which has turned a whole workforce into slaves. These are invisible chains that educated workers have accepted willingly as their fate in a capitalist economy.
Speaking from experience, my previous boss that cared for me was laid off, then replaced by this cold blooded boss who thinks only about promoting itself, me first and only attitude. To be fair, almost every people managers here do not really care about their subordinates, probably some showmanship, but when it comes time to cut, every man for himself. There is no leaders, only workers here. Your people manager boss is not a true boss, they are just individual contributors with other people's skills to leverage freely on.
Thanks for that, it was coming for us along time ago. I knew despite my manager's reassurances we were screwed.. in the end I think I may have even forced his hand because I was sick of the suspense.. The team I worked on don't exist next year. Poor bastards that are left on it have a finger pointed at them and my ex manager is fighting his damnedest to protect them. This is an awful time manager's as well.. no bees no queen bee...
