Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

More sales less money.

I handily beat all my numbers from last year for October. Here’s a $1000 less than we gave you last year. WTF!!!

@1owk Blue is a big fat turd. Just look at their layoff board. Grass is not greener there. Not bluer either.

Yeah, I just did a search for Comcast on here. Most posts are several months old. One is from 11 hours ago, complaining about metrics.

The majority of Comcast people are there just BECAUSE the grass is greener. And they stay there. Unlike our revolving door leadership.

And...they're not laying off, so....

What state are you in? I’m in Texas but I don’t think they do it in Dallas. And Houston is like 140 miles south. I just bought a house so I can’t move. Do you know if they do it in Shreveport? Or are they expanding?

@1qgo Look for locations that have/sell Xfinity Mobile. I'm not sure which position is which yet, as I don't start until the 27th of Nov.

That said, any location that sells XM is selling re-branded Verizon.

If you're personable, know the VZ product and how to sell (with ACTUAL integrity), I'm sure they'll snap you up!

Their legacy sales reps are VERY low-key, so if you go in and are hungry...you'll clean up!

On top of that, you'll also move up!

Personally, I'm taking several ex-VZers with me after I get in place. It's great because I'll still be working with the people I love.

Best of all is what I hear from everyone who's made the jump. The culture is non-toxic...unlike current-day VZ.

Again, best of luck everyone!

When looking at the Comcast jobs would that be the title “retail service associate” or “xfinity sales associate”. I’m really considering this now. Thanks for the heads up.

@1ctm.

I am a top performer. I used to do 100k as an SS. No lie no cramming, I just knew my stuff and banked my sales bucket every month. With the higher buckets and hum push it’s. It the same. 100 miles is a drive but it could be worth it. It would be the same as working 2 jobs here. He time spent in the car probably wouldn’t be as much as I would spend working the overnight shift at a hotel front desk or tech support at some call center. I used to get windfalled so hard it isn’t funny. Commission now is barely 2000 and it’s not squeaky clean either. Lol.

@1iee

Seriously, it may be worth the drive. At this point, we all know someone or know of someone who has gone or is going over to "Kabletown."

Verizon is rapidly and consistently SHRINKING. It has been for the last 4 years.

Comcast is selling re-branded VZW. It's all brand new to them and they could use our help getting it up and running.

If you're a top-performing rep, they're paying VERY well and you can earn BANK.

If you're management, they're looking for people who will drive sales.

Verizon has ZERO loyalty to you, so regardless how you feel about staying loyal, just know this: THINGS WILL NOT GET BETTER AT VZW.

If I had any inkling that it would, I would have never been looking outside in the first place.

It's only a matter of time before other companies out there knock us out of the top spot. You know...ones that know how to compete and take better care of their customers?

Check out Comcast. Give it a look then give it a shot. You'll thank me later. ;-)

I just looked. It’s about 100 miles for the nearest Comcast job. That blue is looking pretty bright right now.

1 word. Comcast. No commission caps and they're selling MVNO, rebranded Verizon.

You want money, get on with Comcast. I start on the 27th.

There are reps at Xfinity making consistent $5k+ checks on TOP of their hourly.

Go where the money/growth is.

So let me get this straight. You want me to sell more but do it in less hours? They are taking away OT but quotas continue to rise. I say those sales that quota were based on from months past and last year were done with more hours. Therefore you can’t expect us to hit it with 8 hour shifts and 22 sales days.

What do you guys think about big blue? They are the other carrier that pays like we do. Pink and yellow don’t pay.

I killed it in October with quota relief and my check was only $1500. Subtract 40% of taxes from that and it’s only $900. Same numbers were netting me $2400 checks earlier in the year. I’m looking for other jobs.

If you go back another year or 2 some of the quotas are half of what they are now.
