Question regarding holiday pay

Wireless has been in a no overtime policy for a few months. Next week is thanksgiving and Black Friday. Those are both paid holidays.

Our entire market is scheduling front line reps only 32 hours that day to avoid paying out overtime due to the holiday hours.

Can they do this? That’s is also one day off the sales floor as well that no one will get quota relief for.

I’m a wrong in thinker by this is a pretty big issue?

We are scheduled with Thanksgiving being one of 2 days off and 8a-9p on Black Friday. How will that pay break down?

Wow, our market is business as usual. Standard 40 hour week plus overtime is now open to us. Strange your market is lowering hours.

ive Worked on retail 4 years and have always had thanksgiving as one of our two days off that week.

I’m my district it’s business as usual this holiday season. Thanksgiving is one of the two days off.

Black Friday isn’t Bell to bell so we don’t work more than 40 hours but we will be getting our 40 plus the holiday pay for both days.

Sorry to hear that but if you’ve been with the company for any length of time it shouldn’t be a surprise really.

Not making enough money so cut the hours back I️ guess

As a quota bearing sales rep a 32 hour scheduled work week is one selling day less than you should have. Don’t see how that could be done without granting a relief of 1 day on the monthly quota

Months...the no overtime policy elsewhere has been going on far longer that that. It's quietly been a 'noticed on overtime' policy. The quickest way to get yourself on a bean-counters list is to have failed to notice that. Time to develop coping skills.

If you were scheduled to work only Friday, it is still paid out at 2X regular pay, so 16 hours versus 8 hours. Sounds shady.

Overtime pay only kicks in after 40 hours working, Holiday pay at 2x regular pay
