Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Laid off in Training

Really struggling with these calls. I feel really lost. I was right in the middle of training when we received the Layoff notice. Training basically stopped dead in its tracks for obvious reasons but I am left feeling very unsure about how to proceed. I am expected to continue making calls and I am doing that but honestly I have no motivation and loyalty is really hard to come by when I just feel like I have been dumped before I have even got started. I know my members need help and I am doing everything I can in that respect but when they tell me they are thinking of leaving Humana during this open enrollment all I can muster up to say in return is I understand. I can't bring myself to go above and beyond to try to do what it takes to make them happy. I find myself conceding and that is not really me. This is really tough .

I remember that attending training was really expensive for me. I'm sorry for your wasted energy and effort.

Humana at Home is one of the most poorly managed organization I have ever worked for. Imagine hiring people to turn around and let them go before they are even done with training. The cost of hiring a new employee is several thousand. I wonder if the shareholders are aware of the waste of money due to poor management. We were handed a bill of goods. Everything was to be better with the new process. Little did we know we were digging the graves to push those let go into them. This makes me sick.

They should have done a voluntary layoff. I know so many who would have gone for it, and it would have allowed for others to stay. Other companies have been able to pull that off.

I so agree!! Every day gets harder and harder. Still having to be critiqued and worry about every little detail when my heart is not in it anymore. Counting down the days but knowing i don’t have anything to look forward to since jobs are limited in my rural areal.

You can't persuade a member to go or stay with Humana. That is illegal so just do the best you can to manage their health issues now. Hang in there!

You’re not alone. Please hang in there as best as you can. You will rise above this situation and become stronger. Take one moment at a time
