Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Why does HAH seem to be so awful?

I am just judging from being in HAH, but why does HAH seem to be awful compared to much of the rest of Humana? HAH has been an awful experience, especially in the past year. But you see this seemingly “happy” other side of the company. Is this just my perception?

I’m running out of people to call, too.

B.B. reported there were 250 more planned layoffs for 250. He did not indicate which department. I would imagine more if enrollment is down, however it was reported to the news outlets that enrollment in Medicare is up so far for 2018

Hey Susie Sunshine. I fart rainbows and my farts don't stink. Can I hang with you?

Are the 250 cuts in 2018 100% planned or will this be adjusted based on enrollment?

Any program that has not enrolled new members in six months is doomed

Running out of people to call, not laid off (yet) but I do not see how they can pay us all with hardly anyone to call. Seems like there will be more by 2018, I believe someone said they will see after Dec. 7th. What a mess all of this has become! I think they will lay off as needed and continually!

The coast isn't clear. 250 more planned layoffs in the beginning of 2018.

Wow.... it shocks me how nasty people can be towards one another on this site. I sure hope the members are treated with more dignity and respect when voicing concerns or different opinions.

You would think the same mentality and style would manage Humana Inc and HAH. I don’t understand it.

I've wondered the same thing many times OP. Just experience dealing with people in the inc side, they are happy and seem to truly love their jobs. They appear to be well treated and not micromanage. So why is hah different? Leadership maybe? That's the only thing I can think of

I personally think they should ask for people to volunteer to be laid off prior to just letting people go. I feel so bad for the ones that got the notice. I would gladly have offered.....I am actively looking but I unlike many, I live in an area that jobs are plenty. Keep venting - most of us don't mind at all and we really do feel for you.

Wow yeah, that was extremely selfish. Sorry Susie Sunshine, if the reality of the impacted associates situations around you is bringing you down. You poor thing!

Maybe seek some support from EAP? Or reach out to your coach and talk about what a bummer the impacted associates have been for you?

Oh wait, I know - try walking in their shoes for a minute. Not everything around you can be sunshine and rainbows to suit your mood.

"This is hard for everyone, not just those impacted. It seems those impacted have no consideration for anyone but themselves and others in their position." Are you kidding me? Yes it may be difficult for you because your workload increases, but you still have a job and benefits. Those that are laid off have had all security yanked from under their feet right at the holiday, which is a terrible time to be looki ng for a job. There are single parents barely scraping by on a paycheck, sick family members with insurance terming (depending on length of service), and a multitude of other scenarios we don't know about. Imagine how draining it is for them with facing uncertainty in the job market. Have some compassion for their situation instead of complaining about their negativity. I'm sure if you were impacted by layoff you'd have fears and a little negativity going on also. Thank your lucky stars that you still have a job because you could be next.

When will those that are impacted have their last day? Working in an environment with all this negativity is draining. Let them move on so their negativity does not impact those that haven't been laid off. This is hard for everyone, not just those impacted. It seems those impacted have no consideration for anyone but themselves and others in their position.

All I know is communication is awful, trust is gone, morale is nonexistent and my colleagues are miserable.

A few are extremely bitter at being told they were safe just prior to layoffs.
