A massive LR will be announced during the earnings call conference at 1:30 PM PST. 7000 heads will be wacked and an additional 4000 might be chopped at the end of Q2. Business is not good and is not expected to improve. Do yourself a favor and join/listen to that earnings release, check CEC for the link.

The numbers here may be estimates. But they have certain credibility. Chuck and Kramer did not explicitly say those numbers, but from the footnote in the report, which is given in other threads, it seems that the potential "cost savings" is on that scale...
No more LR announcements. It is all chipping and chopping here and there. You can be cut any day of the week, even a Monday morning at 9 am. Save your money, update your resume, keep an eye outside job opportunities. When the shoe drops, you will be in a good position to transition out of Cisco.

To that someone out there reading this thread and worrying: don't worry.
There is a start and a finish to everything.
Everyone I know who has been LR'd; definitely had their ups and downs afterwards. Don't take it personally. It's business.
It's a big world out there. Spent many days worrying about my own demise. It wasn't a demise; getting LR'd was a rebirth. Would go through it all again.
Be proud of your achievements at Cisco. Keep your skills sharp. Don't become complacent. Don't spend too much time playing politics; take the time to be a good team player, but put up boundaries to reserve time to keep the skills that originally helped get you hired...and work on those skills.
You can't control the future, but you can influence your own destiny. Try to enjoy it.

5 on my floor got the 1:1 invites yesterday, and from the numbers provided looks like 1/8 of our people were affected.
