Bonus eligibility when leaving Walmart

Like most people here(it seems), I'm looking to leave Walmart.

Is it confirmed that staying through the fiscal year, January 31st, will secure the yearly bonus? Honestly, I'm at the point where the thought of staying until mid-March for the actual payout makes me cringe. I'd prefer to have the serious job hunt in full swing a couple weeks before I'm eligible for the bonus.

Any advice on how long you have to stay for the bonus would be much appreciated.

I noticed in my 10 year 'tour' - I was hired in 2007 and left in Sept of this year - that most people left the company between April and September/October. Once you hit November you are 3 months away from that magic date of January 31st. You put up with so much sh!t during that time you talk yourself into staying another 3 months in the hope you'll get a decent bonus and make it worth while in staying. "Golden handcuffs" indeed!

Thanks for the response.

Yes, I'm considering waiting for the stock rights to vest as well. They're called "golden handcuffs" for a reason.

I left WMT earlier this year. I stayed until Feb 1st and there weren't any problems with receiving my bonus. You also might consider leaving in April after the stock RSI's mature.
