I had to lay off an RSS who was in medical leave. I had to call them during the timeframe where every effected individual was told.(a Thursday morning)
No, being on leave does not protect you from a lay off resulting from a workforce reduction or a position elimination.
I'm sorry I'm not aware of how these notifications are handled, as I haven't personally witnessed one.
I was on vacation when I was notified of my own lay off; I hadn't been paying attention to my phone that morning and when I finally looked at it I had nearly a hundred (total) of missed calls, voicemails, and text messages from my DM, GM, and SM. They do their best to make sure they are the ones to tell you personally, rather than hear it from a peer or the internet.
Why can't people just answer questions without the name calling???? It's unnecessary and childish.
You are the type of person they Target. You will be gone. They aren't paying for you to sit on your a--.
The employee will just be laid off when they return from STD/LTD. You’ll miss out on any or all of the 6 week severance till EOY while you’re still out. Saw a cell tech on the last layoff trade 2 weeks of 100% pay for 2 weeks at 60%
No
In the past i’ve seen RIFs affect people on STD, LTD and FMLA so...no.
No you idiot..
How is someone out on short term or long term typically dealt with?
In the past, no. So I’m assuming they are not this time either.
