Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Earnings

Total revenue fell to $12.14 billion from $12.35 billion.... profitability is up 3.1%.

So LRing a bunch of people resulted in cost savings, but still revenue drops... Maybe the execs should forgo their huge bonuses this year. Get ready for next month's LRs.

Just break off a piece and paint to match. Works perfectly.

the big wildcard is the shift from the deferred product revenue @ $18.5 billion, to that deferred amount then actually turning into cash flow over time

deferred product revenue can be realized as a credit to balance sheet now, with time it is converted to cash flow, as customers pay for new license model

good luck to Cisco on the conversion...once customers actually are expected to pay through time the expected license revenues; big overall industry challenge

Enjoy your one day bump. I understand that the most recent round of LRs will finish their career at Cisco right on the holiday break. "Merry Christmas! Now hand in your badge."

LR will continue. Profit is up and stock jumps. This means the strategy of cutting costs is working. In the foreseeable future, revenue, employee morale, and product quality will continue to go down. We will see more layoffs and higher bonus for executives. The total collapse that many in this forum hope to see will not occur.

Stay positive . Perhaps we could corner the market in bugs and control the world’s food supply . Should bump up the share price.

How can "revenue" goes up if the bonuses drop? On the same logic, and let's assume the SLT/ELT cut their package by 50%; and to be fair let's cut all employees pay by 20% and then what? Hope the revenue goes up by 10%???

Pretty good quarter and most importantly the guidance is POSITIVE.

Seems like a strong quarter and a positive pop in the share price during after-hours trading. Hopefully everybody gets to keep their jobs in Q2!
