Those companies are all legacy companies that are failing to adapt to stay competitive. Their management lacks the ability to increase revenue by innovating products and offering new services. There is plenty of action in the tech sector with new companies. Look at Apple with Facetime. I use that to communicate more that I use my cell phone. Why didn't Verizon think up something like Facetime or Facebook Messenger. Why do they waste their money buying failing companies like AOL and Yahoo. Those companies are over the hill as far as the product adoption cycle. Products have a life cycle. Once they start to decline it's time to create new products. If the legacy companies don't do it then the startups will. Just read a report like CB Insights. There are thousands of new companies that are pushing out the old ones.

What you are seeing is a foreign culture taking hold in upper rule defining ranks. Verizon is a very foreign company. The managers that move up the chain gain the power to make big decisions and (naturally) help their homeland country at the same time. BS Problem is Verizon management never had a clue how to run this company since Lowell took the reigns. He has wasted so much money on slop investments and poor choices. Yahoo, AOL, give me a break. All the time wasted on IPTV to develop junk that people can already buy on ebay using already created apps. GO90 another joke. Now Lowell envisions VZ needs to be the fasted fiber network to support the future technologies and rebrands it "Fiber One". Just intergrate the damn VZ LTE over WIFI and charge the universe a fee to use the network. This is not rocket Science Lowell. You cant figure it out? ????
