There have been multiple RIF's (reduction in force) today so far. An unknown amount of people yet to go. We all understand that Verizon is not the leader of the industry anymore and to regain their loss they cut people but not the executives that supposedly steer this business. If everyone has noticed Verizon Wireless previous executive leadership has been jumping off the sinking ship for months. Why? Because they knew the business was and is in trouble. Don't feel badly for the one's that have been asked to leave today because they will be fine and hopefully onto bigger and better opportunities. Feel badly for the people/employees left behind now tasked with cleaning up the mess left behind and tasked with picking up even more work patching the holes of a sinking ship. Always remember what they say to you "Do more with less".

Total leadership vacuum for the last several years. In wireless network it’s become a sea of silos. No one collaborates any more or is fociusing on the big picture, just lots of block checking to avoid the next RIF list. They have everyone so focused on metrics and minutiae that they lost sight of the results.
"do more with less" the motto indeed. I'm hoping I'm on the list for RIF. A nice package for my 15 years. And move on
