Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

What will this mean for our Version hours?

We lost nearly half of our team. There is five of us left. We were pushing it when it comes to hours as it is, how in the world do the hire-ups expect us to do our job without half of the team? Will we be expected to work 70 hours weeks? I know I should feel lucky I still have a job, but when I look at the future, it’s anything but bright.

70 hour weeks? we are forced for 50+ everyweek. Seems only the management gets weekends and nights to sit on their butts and see their families. Guess the 1% need more sacrifices.

Welcome to the Verizon pressure cooker. Workload will increase with each RIF until you either:

a. Leave on your own

b. Continue until you cannot perform and end up on a RIF list.

Our new norm.

Layoffs are hard on those left behind too. They company will try to overload you with work. Say no. Set boundaries. Your whole team has to be on the same page.

I totally agree, I am in IT and we already had more than enough work for double the staff. Unbelievable.
