Severance package

Has any of the accounting leads out there received their severance paperwork yet? Almost feels like they're hiding something. I still have no clue how they think that four hours a day is going to get everything done properly. I'm still trying to figure out that stupid machine. I never had a problem balancing until it came along. Some decent training sure would have been nice.

Still no severance package. Maybe we all need to do a class action lawsuit against SAMs!

To everyone saying look on the wire. Can just say we know this. I want to clarify my question was if anyone had actually received something in the mail. I printed the info on severance from the wire and know it front to back. I just wanted to ask if anyone had got the actual packet. It goes off of your average hours not the club btw.

A memo was sent out today that the severance pkg was to be mailed out this week to the accounting associates so be on the lookout. If you havent received them by Dec 1 make sure to let them know

They updated the severance policy in January and you'll get 1 weeks pay for every year you've been with the company...and they do an average so if your club has been at 37 &1/2, you'll get whatever average weekly pay is for that. I was the accounting lead up until July. I left because I knew it was coming. And the jackass that said all the cash office did is stack bills on the machine is a dumb--s!!! I was doing a lot more than that, borderline management duties!! All of you asking about the severance, just search severance policy on the wire and that'll be what you're getting. And your GM should have been able to tell you.

Our lead was told she would get her packet after Dec. 1.

I was just getting on here to ask the same question. I have four days left and haven't received anything. The last time I heard anything was the day they told me that my position was being eliminated. No one has even attempted to help me find another position. Friday can't come soon enough.

Door errors stopped being tracked at most clubs when transferring went away. Writing was on the wall for audit right then and there that shrink wasn’t a concern. They will regret it after they see a full year of no transferring, detail receiving, or audit team by the middle of next year. Taking away cash office and receiving just adds to potential loss.

They will be lucky if shrink doesn’t X10 for the company. These people may have spent a lot of their shift behind a computer but the processes they had in place and took pride in were invaluable.

They will probably bring them back at some point restructured but if they were able to purge 1,000s of 20 year associates in the process it probably saved a few upper management Home office people their 7 figure job a few years by doing so in the short term.

I will be leaving dec 1, but I do get everything done in a hour and a half, even with jams no longer than 2 hours.

I agree four hours is not enough, perhaps it will be when things with the machine run smoother, but I doubt it. I'm also a lead and still work the eight hours and stay busy all of those hours. What are they going to do when we're not around to answer all the questions? I'm guessing the cash errors will just be overlooked. It's already obvious that the company doesn't care how much money they're losing anyway. How much money do you think is walking out the door with the Scan n Go and not checking the receipts any longer? Now that door errors don't count the cashiers could care less if they miss something. The just take it back, well how much stolen stuff do you think they're taking back? The dishonest members have it made and they know it! I'm leaving December 1st and not looking back. And my phone better not start ringing with questions. And those of you that say we should be looking for another position in the club, well I think we're smart enough to see what's going on and want no part of it.

I was the cash lead. I have yet to be able to complete this new process in the 4hrs they give us. I have spent hours going back and forth just to fix and clear the jams. Even without jams it still takes about 6 hours. I see the benefit of the machine, it cuts down on the cos and cashier. But 4hrs is not enough. Especially when no one is answering the phone, doing the door errors and demos, fixing misc problems with the machine, helping answer questions from members because no one knows the answers. It’s taken me an average of 6-8 hours a day. Anyone else getting it done on time?

and will those stocking hours be when all receiving is done??....and all hauling to the steel??.....if so what a joke.....the reason they think the business office can run on part time hours is because they think the managers will pick up the slack ! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA what a joke.....managers just pass things along and blame the hourlies if things go wrong..............

Still a waiting game on the severance. I too feel there is something being hidden. You would think if it was a good deal they’d have mailed them out weeks ago. I’m going to be pissed if i worked both jobs this whole time just go get screwed.

As for night shift yes. They have already done it at “test” clubs which always means it’s coming. There will be a 4a-12p and 4p-12a stocking crew.

Is it true that Sam's Club is changing their night shift to 4am to 12pm?

I keep checking the mail box everyday ever since I was told about the changes. I was told the severance will be mailed out, something just doesn't make sense at all, you would think we would have received that by this time
