VZ Unemployment?

If you volunteer for layoffs here at Verizon, can you collect Unemployment benefits?

Sometimes yes sometimes no, what I heard is you have to put reduction of work to qualify when you file

one week waiting period in CA, no severance isn't a factor, but not it in your claim. You have paid into these benefits and so has the company. you are unemployed, the severance is not a factor

Our state MN sends a form to VZ to verify your employment status and any severance periods.

Most states will pay / let you claim unemployment your first day off payroll, severance or no severance. VZ could always fight the claim, but they won't.
