I work in a Wireless call center and our managers supposedly had no idea about layoffs, and then after checking on layoff rumors, said it’s just effecting wireline employees and told us to quit talking about it because it’s gonna cause everyone to freak out. Obviously, I don’t believe them because I know they are never thinking about the employees feelings, but about the company and making sure employees don’t run amok if they think they are about to get laid off. Last time a reorganization happened, those on the phones and their supervisors and Senior Managers were safe but the peeps in the call center that had offline jobs were effected. Funny how we just had several team meetings about Union awareness and don’t join unions and Union members trying to recruit outside the center in May or June but then all of this starts to happen.

Who ever said it was just wireline is wrong. Wireless net ops got hit. I had 29 years in and got cut
No union, no security. It’s a no brainer. Unions are not what they used to be but at least you have seniority and a contract to protect you.
Of course they said you're safe. Have you ever had leadership tell you that you were anything BUT safe?
Still holding out hope!

You guys are fine, just like Rancho, Irvine, Lincoln...
His job is to keep sheep quiet? No matter what tomorrow brings
No employee is ever safe VZ has been known to do a 180 on a dime. Keep at the preforming or above levels and clean attendance record and you will be taken care of.
