Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

Relief at last

CB&I ALWAYS begins FEED too soon and relying on information gained from past jobs, then pounding that square information into round holes.

Then they wonder why all the hours are gone and they still don't have a finished product they can present to the client.

Too many jobs start okay but then they start changing personnel that are totally confused about the project. This creates issues like going over the same ground to solve a previously solved problem because the new guy wants to do it his way.

Engineers need to understand that there is no magic button that changes the project information based on your new "talented" input.

Want to work at CB&I?

If I was given the chance again, I'd decline.

Well friend you say it's not Engineering then turn around and say it's a lack of qualified Engineers. Engineers ARE Engineering and it ain't cheap.

CB&I has good Engineers they have poor planing and management of the projects.

A bran muffin and a cup of coffee work wonders, every morning.

It is not engineering, it is the culture. Matter of fact it is the lack of quality engineers that know what they are doing. It is called inexperienced cheap labor. Lack of training and projects running engineers over because something is cheaper. You get what you pay for.

I have no desire to work for CB&I, they have slowly eroded over the years. They have cut so many corners they are going in circles and do not have a clue as to what is going on.
