last I heard all the rapidly aging women running around in pantsuits yelling at support teams to move a power cable from one place to another, colloquially named "store ops" are getting canned

Why wouldn’t they have done it on the 16th with everyone else? Doesn’t make much sense to me
The last major was before Christmas 2 years ago.
Two groups who have jobs consisting of meaningless busy work but I doubt anything will happen this year. Maybe 2018.

Retail assumes they would NEVER be laid off before Christmas.
Why?
Because your store is so busy?
You know it isn't, therefore don't assume your job is safe.
