Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

Layoff or Fired? Start looking now

First, I think there’s a lot of confusion on the term layoff; a layoff is a temporary displacement from work where the company intends to hire you back. This will not be a layoff - they will be terminating our employement, permanently aka fired. I have 20 years here and have come to the conclusion that I need to accept reality and need to do the best thing for my family before they dictate my life. With the end of DSD near for most companies, I’ll probably need to look at different industries which will take time. I am starting now and my advice to the great people I’ve had the pleasure working with you should too. The faster we start looking for jobs the better chance you will land a job you want versus taking a job you need. Big difference!

Don’t think it won’t be you - it will be the majority of us; with a few lucky ones remaining but for how long?

From what I'm hearing is we're done first quarter of 2018.

Better start looking now then.

Sounds like our time is about done!

Game Over!
