Don't say it can't happen. They laid off 1000 hourly in Greenville in 2002. Made over 300 turbines in 2001, and 50 in 2002.

Finally, some in the sacred cow buddy groups are stressing in Greenville SC! They are at risk for the first time ever. Even if they are at less risk, it’s fun to watch them squirm like the rest of us have for years.
Heard a rumor that more Union guys like you will keep posting rumors. Maybe learn something besides turning a wrench and reading a newspaper.

Yes, Massive 2018 Layoffs in France have been planned for a while and WILL happen. GE Leadership is starting to salivate as time gets near.
What wasn’t planned was additional Power Layoffs in the USA. GE mistakenly thought US Layoffs would be complete in 2017. However, the financial condition of GE and the actual power market has made additional layoffs in early 2018 a requirement. Hourly will get their turn as salary ranks have been hammered all year in US locations and production work will be winding down to almost a stop. Greenville SC, and Schenectady, NY will be very depressed places to be. They should go ahead and provide mental counseling services at these locations to help keep these victims calm. The employees have reached their mental abuse limit.
I think that has been know for a while. 1st round 11/30 (US and global but not x-Alstom), 2nd round in March/April impacting some European sites, possible 3rd round in Q3 if sales don't pick up. Death by a thousand cuts. Some of this is contingent on how quickly we can sell or close segments of Power.
Why even spread this, every week a new rumor of impending DOOM.
