Hba centers are Greenville, Columbia, Murfreesboro, El Paso chandler and and Alpharetta...
So what are the 6 HBA centers? ABQ, Rolling Meadows, Huntsville, Greenville, Columbia, and Charlotte?
Silly people... just look at how many centers have been closed since 2012...there is a pattern..
All centers are NOT designated as HBA. There are only six that are designated hba. However, All center employees were allowed to apply for hba positions. Little Rock is not an hba center. You only have to look at your flex time list to see the DESIGNATED HBA CENTERS.

Pretty sure all centers have HBA now so this post is BS false news to scare employees.
Stop kidding yourself. Do you really think call centers will be relevant in the future? That ship has sailed...
I wouldn't disregard Chandler because of the command center....alpharetta had a command center and was totally laid off about 2.5 years ago and a new command center was put in the Greenville call center.
Mankato hasn't hired any Tech in years and the President resigned/fired without any explanation. Have not heard any plans on replacing the President. The building is less than half full. Time to move on.
Uhh wdts was way back when and the knowledge is useless today. Technology has changed a great deal since then. Murfreesboro recently got trained in global and it is a designated hba center. Unlikely they will be shutdown before the non hba locations
Albuquerque is not even close to being 50 percent bilingual..
Chandler is one of 2 national command centers... it will be the last to close. Albuquerque is not a designated hba center...however reps in alb can apply for hba just like Mankato and Little Rock... El Paso and chandler are designated hba centers.
for Albuquerque, best check the state DOR for existing VZ tax abatements. what was left of the NRB was transferred to SLC, UT. HBA is just that; floaters that work from home. if EISP is taken then this is considered voluntary separation and does not go against the total number of employees that VZ committed to for the tax abatement. the problem with ALB is getting a significant number of qualified candidates to perform essential job functions. this initiative was promoted by prior governor Bill Richardson who has been out of office since 2008.
@QlfzeHW-1hsw Albuquerque is a HBA center, a disaster recovery location, a 50% bilingual center, a former WDTS group with a broadly technical portfolio of calls, and it contains the west half of the IMT group. Additionally, of all centers it has the lowest market prices for all center-related roles - not as cheap as the Philippines but the city and state pay VZ to stay. I'd guess ABQ outlasts Chandler and ElPaso in the coming storm.

sounds like nerves and wishful thinking on the part of the OP. I understand but facts. The state of TN DOR grants 10 year tax abatements. VZ in Franklin was granted in 2007. If you do the math, you have the outcome. VZ no longer owns any of the call center buildings; they may be bought by VZ but a 3rd party purchases from VZ and then VZ leases back the building from 3rd party. You can verify this through the county recorder's office. This is a business practice that almost all fortune 500 companies utilize to reduce liability that impacts the corporation. if there are economic impacts that force the company to reduce overhead, the costs of paying back a broken tax abatement agreement and breaking a lease are far less impactful to the bottom line then the overhead of employees for which there is not sufficient work. I am sorry if this sounds harsh but it is a business first and foremost. Sounds like OP getting info from not so well educated supervisors.
the wallingford center had a multi million dollar makeover before it was closed. they also owned that building, didn't matter, people said the same thing. a call center makeover is peanuts to a multinational corp, they will just write it off as a loss and continue the process of gutting the company.
People keep saying the Murfreesboro center but I’m hearing the Franklin center (which is 30 miles away from Boro center) is closing and that makes sense. Their Care department was moved to Boro center last year and the remaining departments (Financial Sercices and EPP) were told that it is just a matter of time before the center closes and they are expecting closure but haven’t been updated yet with a date
I’m at the Murfreesboro call center and they just renewed a 5 year lease on the building so I doubt we will close. Also, they just changed out our huge sign so it has the new logo and remodeled the bathrooms and we all know this company wouldn’t spend money on something like that if they know they are going to close the center. Do I think they may lay people in the center off? Yep. But actually close it, no.
It's not 2018 yet - Verizon lays off/closes call centers all the time and they are bleeding money right now. Nothing should surprise anyone when it comes to Big Dead, I mean BIg Red.
