Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Rif’s continues.

I was just in a meeting today with my director, he said there will be more rif’s at the end of February off payroll the end of March. 😤😤 he’s calling it a Nother bloodbath.

144,000 is the number of people who will go to heaven according to the Jehovah's witnesses.....I know, this is probably politically incorrect but I just couldn't help it. Sorry

YES there were RIFs last April. I personally know of several ex-Verizon coworkers who were riffed. So it should not surprise anyone if there are 1st quarter RIFs in any given year.

Does anyone have any firm backup for the 16K laid RIFd figure? While we've had some posts here talking about groups having 10% or more cut, that 160K includes union and offshore employees who I'm sure weren't cut anything like that (if at all).

"Of course the RIF's will continue. Tell me why Verizon needs over a 160,000 employees. They could run this place with half the headcount."

What "place"? Work isn't getting done, customers are not being taken care of in the division I work for. In some cases a whole department was removed and nobody has access (even if they had the time) to do what they were doing.

We're talking numbers and a dart board. Somewhere at the top they decided people weren't needed -- they have no clue what they actually did for the company.

The 160,000 number doesn't apply anymore.

At least 16,000 were just laid off. 160,000 - 16,000 = 144,000
