Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Buyout would still have to be approved

Even if Qualcomm accepts the offer, the deal would still have to be approved. It would be a long and arduous process with no guaranteed outcome. So don't panic about huge layoffs just yet.

Having your hopes on regulators delays is false hope. Almost certainly Qgov will have to be spun off, but Q is already multinational, already divided up nicely as far as export compliance to enable foreign ownership with a minimum of adjustments.

Yes, in fact the regulators might make their approval conditional on the closure of certain parts of the business.

Actually no it wont be a tough long drawn out process. It has already be written that he would gain control of the company -either friendly or hostile takeover and then divest , sell or shut down(layoffs) parts of the business beforehand in order to appease the regulators.thats the way it is done and he did the exact thing when he purchased Brocade.
