yea man overnights does literally nothing. compared to days that does...? oh right they point to an item a member is looking for. meanwhile the building just stocks itself. to shut that argument down days has hard working smart assosiates as does nights. its so easy for days/nights to say the other one s---s because there is noone to defend them.

I'm just waiting for the notice to come that we can get our severance and get out of here. I'll let them know they can call if they need me back and then see what happens after everything falls apart. I'd come back, I'd just want my full pay back, cash out all that banked personal and sick time I have, restore all the pto I had cashed out, and probably give me a $10k bonus for the trouble. They're going to fall apart and it'll be horrible for them. But it'll be good for us as long as we get out in time.

The shrink really doesn't matter to the company..... if they let go 5 associates at 35,000 year... they can afford the shrink ...instead of paying the 5 associates.... this money will go towards shrink... so basically balances out... pay the 5 associates and low shrink or no associates and high shrink paid for...

Rec Clerk, Lead, cash office lead, and audit team were the #1 preventer of shrink. Not only that the CIM system needs a human check and balance system that it used to have in place to function correctly. No Movement, CWO, Negative on hands, audits, reserve only report are a disaster when left up to the TLs. Inventories are a train wreck. Just imagine how much worse it will get without Rec.

No one is looking at the journal now for internal or refund issues. Scan and Go fraud opens up a whole new ballgame. Who’s digging into those? Greeters? COS? Ha!

This company is going to sink it’s own ship ok shrink alone by next spring once all these jobs are gone. Eliminating long term associates from office jobs is short sighted and going to bite them in the a-- by 100s of millions compared to last year. Mark it down.

Literally every one of these things are already done by the day shift at our club. Night crew hasn’t been able to be depended on since the ill advised switch to Gang Stocking 5 or 6 years ago. No one having an area took away any sense of pride they did have in stocking.

Right now we have about 7-8 people on overnights who just wander around messing with block rockers and leaving drink bottles everywhere.

Day shift has a forklift or two out on the floor all day dropping and stocking. That alone takes 6 people away from helping the member.

Won’t be a big transition for our club except having a few more people on the floor for a couple hours.

I agree , receiving is almost never the source of shrink...20 years ago when we sold a lot less volume we had stockers come in and stock from 5 til 10 and then leave at 1:30.....it worked because we did not open til ten and we had more people and there was much less to do....with fewer people , greater volume and 7 am opening our club will never function ....another problem is that our managers all nod there heads to home office like bobble heads and say yep it will work...our managers do not have the guts to tell home office this is foolish.....they will let us drown before they will even report the gaping holes in the boat............

This is how clueless management is, they're looking for shrink in receiving... and since now, they don't want us to detail receive, how do we even know we DID receive it? Even more, with all these events we're having, for the holidays, the managers come to receiving & ask us where the merchandise is! What a joke! The problem isn't in receiving, it's the minimum wage, new hire, even the job stealing self check outs where the shrink is & it's not going out the back door, it's walking out the front door, right in front of your noses! It's so obvious that who's ever making all these changes have no clue on how things operate at club level. They're up there in La La Land, living in the past, thinking, "Oh, this is how we did it when we were Pace." They need to wake up, cuz Pace doesn't exist any more. This is 2017, not the 1980's. If you ask me, they should cut the heads of the double headed dragon (J & G) and things will change for the better.

Every time I look at this site I laugh uncontrollably.....I do truly hope folks from home office are checking this out....if the rumors on here come to pass it will be hysterical to watch .....receiving can not be done in the split shifts they are proposing......and as far as cart rail and pod and endcap changes go here is how it will play out......managers will tell some to hand jack the current items to receiving where they will just be dumped and not wrapped or tagged or cim'ed properly......as a result receiving dock will be so clogged that they can't receive anything......of course none of this will be management's fault....nope , receiving will get into trouble for not cooperating with the floor folks.......and so on the madness will continue..............gonna be a blast , bring some pop corn and watch the show !!!

If these rumors are true, this will be bad! 3 hours in morning and maybe 2 - 3 of stocking time with no members in the building will not work. Lets get the people who are making these decisions in the Club to show us it can be done.

-How are Cartrail changes going to get done? The Cartrail takes time to remove everything from the floor and on the short steel, then set up the new layout. And if you have to take down or put up the steel because Bakery or Clothing tables have to go up there.

-Seasonal Resets. Ha, merchandise gets put in many different aisles and takes a long time. How many trip hazards and blocked aisles will there be?

-Stocking anything in Center Section or HBA. Most of the time, forklifts take the merchandise up there. And if you stock during the day, you would have to go get the pallet from wherever the forklift driver left it and take it up front, taking one pallet down those aisles will block carts and members from getting through.

-Displays. Home Office wants WOW displays. So, now lets block the aisles with the scissor lift. And how about those big blow up displays in the summer. Ha

-F/C layouts. Ha. Enough said there. Shoot, just getting merchandise to the freezer during the day, there goes 3 associates - the forklift driver and two people watching him. Nice use of payroll.

-Events. Ha. Try setting up for events with merchandise that cant be sold until the day of the event.

-And the list goes on and on...

If this happens, i pray for all if us!

Overnights can’t get sh-- done in a solid 8 hours. No way are they gonna get anything done in 3 hours in the am before lifts need off floor.

If they think the afternoon shift is going to get anything accomplished stocking until the club is closed they are dumber than we thought at home office. That crew will do nothing but help members.

Seems like that whole idea is to get more people on the floor to help the member and could be fixed easier by just having a couple more floor partners during the day.

We already spend a good portion of our shift on days dropping stuff that gets ignored the night before.

In most cases the overnight manager sets the tone of what gets done during the overnight shift. If will interesting see how the other floor managers will help in getting the club ready for business. They are out of touch on what it takes to actually have to work. Doing the droplist, stocking, working " hot items", mixed skids, doing countless notes from club manager, other assistants and leads, working mixed skids, doing transitions and layout changes, unloading paper, water, Wal-Mart Mart trucks, working CIM correctly, setting up events, etc. Will be interesting if the rumor does comes true.

You are both correct and they are going to expect those who don't take the severance to help them out ! Rude awakening for all those in charge, you think it's had now wait until April.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHHAAHHHH|HAHAHAHAAHHA!!!!.....what a joke !..None and I mean none of our managers will even be able to begin to do receiving !!.....our managers only know what home office says...which is nothing...if home office says to do something because homeoffice thinks it will work our managers blindly do it....the y won't believe people who have been there and done that....so whn home office is telling them all this new stuff will work our managers actually believe that receiving work is just a piddly little thing....there will be firings ensue.....no they wont fire the ones causing the problems ( management and above) they will blame the hourlies who can't possibly get all the work done for lack of hours , time and experience.....hourlies will get fired for not being able to pull off miracles in the face of the ridiculous..........

They don't care look at all of the inventories that we have had since doing away with the audit team. I bet everyone's number were really screwed up. I all so bet theres alot of numbers that are currently screwed up cause the team leads aren't doing their monthly audits. Receiving is the first place shrink can start. The new employees bein hired aren't receiving correctly, cause their not being train to do it. They are not thinking where to place things in the steel or what can be stacked on. Why should they the current management teams in the clubs aren't correctly doing the steel walks neither, cause most of them don't have the experience or training in receiving. Hell have of them don't have the comon sense .wonder who gonna be picking up after the mess they will be creating by getting rid of the long term associates that actually care that shrink isn't created by not detail receiving trucks or making sure that sh-- isn't falling out of the steel and killing a member. Sams is starting to have that problem lately ..stuff falling out of the steel..lack of training and comon sense on the people that they are putting behind the controls of the forklifts.. That and alot of the long termers are starting to just not give a crap cause you don't know if you'll have a job tomorrow or next month or year. Just grow some balls and let's us know..do we have a future with the company or are you going to wait till the last minute and screw us over... and I know what some of the replies are going to be hey don't wait start looking for a job... well that's a good idea have done that , but here's the thing when you have worked for a company so long not only does your hyly rate go up but so does your age and some people financially can't start over at 10.00 an hr or what ever the the min wage is.

Makes sense. No lead, no invoice clerk, the area manager will take over the tasks of the two positions. Unfortunately most have zero clue what goes on daily; how many fires these two people put out for the club.
