Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

Who is buying CBI-Technology?

Rumor is that the potential buyers have been narrowed to 3; an investment firm, an EPC firm, and an owner/operator.

Bechtel has been rumored as the EPC, and Aramco as the O/O.

CMS aka Confusion Management System or Crap MS or Complicated MS makes employees same as commodities / widgets and stifles any innovation, desire to work to be a hero and any pride in work. Corp Management more BS than anything. It can't get worse no matter who buys Tech.

Honeywell will be no better, you will have a job until you train your replacement in Delhi. Been there done that. Wish you the best of luck if Honeywell gets you.

If Honeywell/UOP ends up the winner then I see substantial upside as CB&I should have ability to partner for all Lummus plant EPCs & perhaps even UOP plant licenses (UOP doesn't have EPC capabilities)

I heard the Honeywell/UOP rumor too. Also heard that there would need an announcement tomorrow.

Honeywell is expected as the buyer as CBI technology will be a good fit with its existing UOP licensing technology portfolio. Further Honeywell is headquartered in New Jersey just like technology group in Bloomfield.

I used to believe in them until management lost focus of why they were in business. Started thinking more about money than building quality plants. Started treating employees as widgets (CMS) and quality went down the tubes. Now no one there knows what they are doing.

I just heard today here in The Woodland's office that an extreme restructuring operation is on the verge of being revealed and will shake up the market. I believe in this company and our new management is making huge changes. What more can you want?

Who ever buys the technology piece of CB&I, what will CB&I have left? Their EPC business does not know how to engineer and build a plant. They have lawsuits and fatalities on their record. What a joke for a company.

I've heard a rumor that the operating company was Chevron. There is already a Chevron Lummus Technology business.

I think that would be good for Tech.
