I could completely see that scenario. I used to short just before each and every earnings for years. NOW I think people are hoping for the Trump tax breaks to bring in investment money.
He actually says "That tells me you want to sell that because typically short covering rallies like this are usually short-lived, like a week or so, and then the stock will settle back down to a normal trading range,"
The story is 11 days old and they are still going up. So unless they go down in the next few days it looks like he's wrong.
