Possible layoff numbers

Based on revenue per employee comparison between Broadcom and Qualcomm, at least 20% Qualcomm headcount cut is reasonable. That is about 7000 people.

On top of it, there will be additional $0.7-1.3B cost reduction in overlapped business like WiFi meaning around 4000+ layoff in those business units even though that is one time thing.

I think 7000 is a reasonable number, but I think that will include the overlapping businesses already. That won‘t come on top.

It‘s still a 20+% cut.

And I strongly doubt that anything will be spun off.

WiFi Overlap will be spun off. This will be a requirement from regulators to maintain competition in the market. Acquiring company will probably cut some.
