Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

What is the outlook after 2Q

So we know Oracle always cleans shop after quarter end. Management and employees are already being hauled in front of execs to explain quarter end short falls - which never ends well for the lower ranks. The Cloud success story is still very questionable. There are rumors/facts about product lines ending.

Is there really any substance behind the layoffs? And if so what areas are really going to be affected? I have to believe management have a good view of the 2Q results, and thus a plan ready to be executed - anyone have any insight?

With AWS now rolling out their bare metal services and embracing the custom chip/ ASIC paradigm ... ruh roh!

Depends entirely on how busy the cloud washing unit has been, which in turn depends on how concerned SC is about getting cought with her hands on the proverbial cookie jar

All I can say is that any LOB that isn't growing should expect a RIF in the near future.
