The jacked up premiums comment was based on the info mailed to me by GE. I was surprised and happy to learn when I enrolled that premiums had actually not been jacked up. Likely just a crappy mailing aimed at husband and wife on,y families, I.e., not aimed at kids cheaper to insure than what was portrayed in the mining. I enrolled in GE medical and vision a week ago and received an email from GE confirming that. They have not contacted me yet to say they are going to revert me back to BHGE insurance. I suppose they may unveil that when they send the ID card. It doesn’t sound like GE had its act together any better than BHI did. Cutting the dividend by 50 % would seem to evidence that.

Re "GE jacked up the premiums for 2018" comment above: when I called the GE Benefits number BHI retirees were given to make enrollment elections, after having sat through a long (but rather thorough and well-explained) conference call a few weeks ago, I was surprised to hear a recording stating that "it has been decided" that legacy BHI retirees would remain on the BHI retiree plan and any election (re the GE plan options) was "void".

My thoughts in reaction to this were: (1) yay, no jacking up the premiums; (2) damn, still no dental/vision options; (3) yeah, this is the beginning of the divorce.

What happened? I am 60 and still have RMA though GE jacked up the premiums for 2018. It sounds like you are saying they killed RMA for folks younger than 60. Is that wha happened?

I was able to use this when I was laid off in 2015. No one told me about it, I did not know it even existed. When a co-worker told me about it, I called HR and they denied such a program existed. I did not give up and finally got it. Good luck with the class action suit. They know how to lie, cheat and steal from the employees. I feel sorry for you guys
