The sticky part of any such deal, Aera or not, is accounting for the abandonment liability of 10s of thousands of wells. Surface expressions call into question well integrity at many locations in the Kern Fields.

Great example of the fake news the Troll likes to put on here. Don’t fall for it.

Could someone from SJV BU confirm if AERA took over the management of the some of the assets? The old post talked about 2020, was it completed? Just curious how did it align with the recent Upstream Evolution and Functional Transformation initiatives.

ghnx I'm sorry that you have no friends and family at all. Start working on your resume. For the rest of us, we have been staying gainfully employed by working hard and doing our job, and not being butthurt losers complaining about others getting preferential treatment. Good luck with your pathetic plight.

That secretive “Special projects” organization you mention is the ‘Friends and Family’ network that exists in every BU. If you are not plugged into the network, start updating your resume.

Even though there has been no announcement to US citizens there are billions allocated to block projects which could mean the government is working on a swiss cheese alternative

No official announcement to employees, but the new org has a secretive “Special projects” organization that could be working the details...

How official is this actually? Is this still in the works and likely to happen, or it's already settled? If it's been settled, have all the Bakersfied employees been notified?

You all should have got the idea when your CEO visited SJV earlier this year that he came to ink a deal......that deal was for AERA to acquire SJV. AERA put some conditions in front of SJV and that’s what they are working on to meet before 2020. CEO does not have time to visit a BU just because he is feeling low in love with you.....

Cut through the ice and ignore the trolls, 2qrf. Read constructive posts and make your own positive comments. That’s what I do. There are some on here who delight in immature and anonymous comments to provoke those who react to it. Just don’t react to them and they eventually will go away. It’s like managing kids.

I am so sick and tire people putting other people down on writing disparaging hurtful words... in many other posts they make fun of typo, grammar mistakes, and spelling mistakes. These are the people who is sick and need a real life.

Stop it.

I think Chevron is working it’s way toward the best reason to move its HQ out of California- no more production assets in the State. True, the refineries will remain there, but that is something the company can manage. It’s having other working assets, like SJVBU, that can get Chevron held captive by politicians who could stymie the sale of production fields. Refineries could always be shutdown and converted to bulk fuel storage yards if California regulations aim to squeeze us if we move HQ to Houston.

If there aren't assets here, will they keep the headquarters in San Ramon long term?

I wasn’t born yesterday but you guys are mistaken. I just attended the women’s conference a couple of weeks ago and very important senior people promised me SJVBU would be better than ever after we get rid of all the sh-- bags.
