“Leading with heart” is more like “Leading with dollars”. Over 250 company wide district pharmacy supervisors and DM positions eliminated at CVS, effective 12/30 Everyone was spoken to as of yesterday. The formula to select those who would be offered a new title makes little sense sometimes years of service and performance doesn’t make a difference. The options are getting back to the bench or on the street. Sad days and happy holidays!
Layoff of approximately 30 full time Longs Drugs/CVS Health employees at the Regional Business Office in Kapolei, Oahu. Managers of Advertising, Procurement and Planogram/CIPD departments were also informed they were being eliminated. Hawaii Longs Drugs/CVS Health is a unique biz model but e-commerce and other competition has taken it's toll on the brick and mortar stores who have not been able to cope with declining sales. Everyone knows that it costs quite a bit more to do business in Hawaii, so Corporate probably feels that why not just run the Hawaii enterprise from the Mainland.
I also have heard that the FCT position will be eliminated in non essential states. They can have a pharmacist intern run the classes in required states and write the payroll off on intern charges which has no effect of district or area payroll demands. My fct has accepted a lead technician position effective Sunday in one of our stores.
My ftm just said some of us (fcts) would get realigned into different areas (or whatever they're calling them now). But not that any were eliminated. At this point though, you can't trust anyone to tell you the truth.
My state requires pharmacy classroom training. I’ve been told the FCT role is changing but not eliminated.
Unfortunately FCT are in the cross hairs also. The position can most definitely be slimmed down or eliminated and have the SM in store facilitate the NCO and various functions themselves. My AVP has advised me that i will not have a FCT in January so the TSM should start learning the required procedures
As a fct, if districts are realigning, should I worry about my position? Will I get more/less stores to track and train for? I feel like they are keeping us in the dark.
Demand being reduced by 3% at store level , as if there was any fat to trim 1+1 is the norm .

It’s been a sad couple of days. I’ve seen really close friends lose their jobs. All DM and Rx Sup positions have been eliminated. A new position has been created called District Leader which will manage a district of 14 stores. This position was filled by top performing DMs and Rx Sups. The were 300 to 400 field leaders eliminated or repositioned to Rph or SM role. Completely different Area, Regional, District, alignments. The world of CVS is a totally different land scape on Jan 1st. They will announce to store leaders via call next week.
So does this round just inclue the rx?? I've heard it's 72 people this time...how true is this info?

All field management has to sign off on confidentiality forms. Any info leaked results in automatic termination.
