Schenectady Renewables Engineer - Just got my "Required Meeting" notice for tomorrow morning

Only invitees are some HR Executive, my boss and me. I'm toast. Anyone else in Schenectady Renewables get hit?

When I got my required meeting notice in Schenectady, the invite came the same day I had 16 years with the company. The program kid who laid me off gave the standard one line, your position is being eliminated. I got unemployment and found a new job. Life is BETTER now that I'm now in that phony culture where I believe people are brainwashed to think they are so much better off being associated to a meatball. WRONG. There are great jobs out there. It's hard at first because it was what defined you. But you will find work again and you won't have to worry about some program kid who is related to some executive stealing your job.

Will these notices for "Required Meeting" continue to be sent through the night? Or do the HR robots have these notices set up all send out at 8PM.

The comment to reject the invite was tongue in cheek, but it sure would have felt good if I had done that.

Don't go to work tomorrow. Go to the ER at 7 AM for chest pains and have the nurse call your manager as soon as they admit you. Then, do not go back to work ever. Maybe give some extra weeks pay out of it.

Sorry to hear that. I got the infamous invite in March. You should reject the invite and just tell them to drop the folder at your desk.

Sorry to hear that. I think if you are willing to move you’ll have no problem finding a better job with a prospering company.

Just curious...do you mind sharing how many years with GE?
