Entire DT orgs at Transportation were given 30 days notice, with option to post on a subset of roles that went up on the board today. These people will have to rebid for a role or walk away.

This wasn't "digital" as in "digital transformation into an IIoT powerhouse"... This was "digital" as in "nobody wants to call it IT anymore".
My understanding is that it was DT (nee IT) teams supporting Engineering and Supply Chain. DT folks supporting Services and Digital were not affected (that I've heard of).
Huge bummer. Feel really bad for those families heading into the holidays...
Digital buzz had to break sometime or other.
What if you don't get the role? Do you get a severance? That seems worse than being laid off.
