Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Warning to FTers

If you're FT and you're not a Zone Supervisor or Commissioned Sales Associate, you better voluntarily step down to PT before Christmas. All other FT are being let going after the holidays as a cost cutting measure.

Hmm....doesn't sound accurate as I believe all depend on the FT's.

Who says that fulltimers are going away? Which specific positions are due to be affected?

At least in our store, pricing leads were supposed to keep up with PLCs and clearance and whatnot. (Though on the plus side, that means neat stuff gets marked down repeatedly and never ticketed, so if you know what to look for, you can get it really cheap.) Even if most of our suppliers cut us off, the data lead is still supposed to ensure all the layouts get stretched out to fill the holes. Of course, neither position actually has the time to do ANY of what their job entails, simply due to the fact that there is too much work to be done elsewhere in the store that (1) nobody else knows how to do and (2) we can't hire anybody to at least attempt to teach how to do it because (3) our fool of a DM sacked our HR for no reason with not even a PT to take their place. Our last several months' worth of trucks have typically been 2-3 leads or the ASM trying to unload 1000+ piece trailers twice a week into a receiving area that is already filled to capacity with nobody to work the freight.

And they want to cut more hours...

@1yzm HR is another good one we have 2 part timers. When you need help they tell you call 88sears that's another part that can get eliminated and you won't feel it.

I imagine the Kmarts will be cutting soon. Data Leads are no longer necessary as suppliers cut them off and with no money for promotions, neither are Pricing Leads. HRs will probably consolidated to the district level.

This would be another stupid move we are already in skeleton crew and they want to basically get rid of the little left we have in a skeleton. If they want to survive another damn year first of foremost get rid of AP waste of hours next a manager since their is to many managers and we cant afford to keep losing hours on the floor to try to keep the mess in control (especially my SM he should be let go you wouldn't feel it at all). Outside of stores a bunch of corporate over paid since they are going to close a mass if we go for another round can't afford to go another round overpaying this baboons.
