Receiving DC trailers thru ASN system.

Has any club started using the ASN program to receive your dry DC trailers and if so how much longer is it taking you ?

LOL at comment about claims and manager coming to days. Concerning last couple comments, we don’t know what the diff structure will be. We just know there will be a change in receiving because tasks are being taken away from clerk as each month passes. Night receiving change could be from the new day stocking piece being looked at where we close for 5 hours a night. Day receiving could be changed in terms of getting rid of actual job title of lead and/or clerk but continue to have the associates in dept but under a more generic title like forklift driver. Just remember here any questions about how a truck will be ran out or floor will be stocked is answered with a solution. It will be figured out and then built upon with tech or to make you faster and more efficient. Just looking ahead here. I don’t know more than anyone else.

Who flushes the dock ? Who unloads the perishable trucks ? Who receives the bread vendors ? Who receives Mclane?Who receives all the other freight ? There is more than just dc trailers, unless that is changing as well.

Unload the truck with ASN and stage groceries and hardliners/center separately on the sales floor. After unloading all of truck go to the floor and get to binning!

I can get a DC unloaded and racked in 2 hours right now as long as nothing goes wrong. But if I have to receive it through ASN I'm not going to be able to be binning it to rack it, so how is that supposed to work? I can't flip back and forth in the system, do you use two TC70s at once? Unloading it all onto the dock and scanning it through ASN is going to add at least an hour that I can't afford to waste.

ASN...We went over a year before books were good to go, I cringe at thinking now how much shrink we are scanning away. Frito is hit or miss. Lately its been alot of misses. Only real positives are Mclanes and Pepsi. At least we think Mclanes is all good. DC? Tried it, and it didn't work. Even tried it after the message from our new ceo to just auto receive the DC's, sort the loose and dump the clothes. Still didn't work. Didn't work last month either. And the worst part of all of this? My night guys still takes longer to get a SINGLE DC done in a night than I would of under the old procedures even 5 years ago. And its all acceptable to our managers now. All i gotta say is F'em

Current understanding is that loose freight is not to be details received. You're saying you have to audit loose freight, so what is the difference ? Audit or detail same amount of time spent. We have as many as 7 pallets of loose freight a day. There will be impossible for a part time to complete all the tasks required. Oh well new hires have at it !!

The ASN for dry dc's has been on the wire since last January. It will help with shrink because you will have to audit the loose freight Lots more coming

Was asking cause I saw an instructional sheet two months ago on the wire, but I looked the other day and I could not find it. Would be nice if they worked out all of the bugs before requiring us to use the programs.

ASN is a pain but if you do it and get % up it is quicker. I usually only have to audit 1 or 2 items on Mclane mixed pallets. Getting rid of us isn't going to change it. It's the future program. Like it or not.

Why ASN rather than the current invoice system? I'm waiting for the Fresh DC's to be done through ASN where we'll have to scan them as they come off. That'll be fun considering how they place stickers.

We have, so easy and a lot less time. It is the only asn program that works. I quit using on books and everything else. It DOES NOT WORK AND VERY TIME CONSUMING!
