Promotion Raise Amount?

If you were promoted this period, what was the promotion portion of your raise?

3.2% here. Pretty weak for a promotion. The regular raise was higher.

The promotion with low raise is a way to retain people until they know if they can lay them off after NXP or Broadcom. It’s a nice gesture but numbers are driving this now. It’s not personal.

The writing is on the wall people. Good times are in the past but move forward with confidence into something new if the opportunity presents itself.

The great mystery economists are trying to figure out is how 4.1% unemployment, millions of open positions, and a shortage of tech workers can go hand in hand with slow wage growth. This thread is more data to analyze.

0% raise, only adjustment to match the new position. 3% here.

I spoke to a former manager and they said I'm a victim of my own success. The small promotion raise is from being highly compensated in my previous title. That could be true. They also suggested looking closer at the RSU difference, which was substantial over last period.

It depends. You may get a market adjustment on top of typical raise next year assuming you salary is way below average of the new level.

It sounds your total raise is about 7% this time, which isn’t too out of ordinary cuz I’ve heard ppl quoting that number. But when it was biannual review your regular raise portion is smaller. So, what’s for sure is you are short changed because of the switch to annual review.

I was disappointed in the 3.2%. The raise will be diminished because next year, they will probably rate me a 4 instead of a 6 or 7. The regular raise will drop about 1% versus staying in the old title and continuing to receive 6 or 7's

Promo used to be 12% raise

What type of promo was this? You got screwed if they have you just 3.2% way too low.

Maybe you were richly compensated at the lower level already. Good luck
