The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that the downtown Fountain Square is closing and American City Business Journal reports that liquidation will begin on 1.8.18. That means the original post was, in fact, accurate.
Wish there was a way to upvote or downvote some of this stuff. People supposedly “in the know” are completely contradicting each other on multiple threads discussing Macy’s. Disinclined to put stock in a lot of this.
I was on a call and a timeline was mentioned and it is only in that hands of regional VP and regional hr. Said lots of calls this week and there is a specific timeline for all the conversations that need to happen

Clearly the person misread the earlier post about NY and NJ stores. The statement said they think 50 to 70 stores closing total in the country. The announcement made this week or next week will focus on store closings. Then later in the month it will be about cut backs in staffing and executives.

you are joking - absolutely not ALL stores in NY and NJ are closing! Do you know how ridiculous that is? Surely there will be some as there always has been but definitely not ALL. Geez. Yep, Herald Square, in NY, is closing. That's just stupid. Brooklyn is closing....yep, that's also stupid. Queens is closing....again, just stupid.
Can someone out there please notify us when the word comes down? Prior to press release? This is killing us.

How can all stores GOB be in NY or NJ? The number of stores getting eliminated is supposed to be upwards of 70, probably more. Two of those are supposed to be in CT.

Well this info tips off when we will get the emergency store manager conference calls. I guess i’ll plan to be in store on the 3rd and 4th this week. I am very worried about my peeps and my peers. Here it comes...
What Direction is that? I also can’t imagine it’s only NY and NJ. I’m guessing 50-70 stores
If this is true, NY, NJ, maybe a merger happening. Have to close stores due to direction of the courts.
