‘Mazzi’ does an “incompetent strategy” surprise you at this point? The 2017 track record says otherwise.
How does "more is better" make any sense? I highly doubt they will layoff more than needed and then backfill the position, there is no financial benefit when severance is considered. Seems like an incompetent strategy
More is better than less. Way to many employees drinking coffee all day. This is the time to do it!
HR is completely incompetent in Cenovus. You can never reach them, but you could find them at any point in +15.

Tomorrow’s culling includes employees at the Director/ Principal level and above.
Then why don’t they start with HR? There’s so many senior specialists there and directors with very few reports it’s a joke. Pot calling the kettle black here don’t you think.
So here is the scoop, tomorrow (15th) is D-day for the VP level and I heard Principle levels and up. After that we will have layoffs for everyone else. All will be done by mid- Feb if not end of Jan. Also, HR is using a philosophy that more is better than less. They will do more than needed layoffs and back fill any positions that they find to be needed.

Friday was the last day for a hundred or so in CONG. Most went to IPC.
Another hundred or so are moving over to the acquirer of the Suffield asset or being let go next week. After that another 100-200 more to meet the number promised to shareholders.
