Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Ugh

Okay, I have had enough. Customer's are not members. They are customers!! Using the name member denotes some sort of benefit. Unless the benefit is non working Heating and Air Systems in the store, what exactly does a "member" receive from shopping with us?

While I am ranting, what has happened to our In Home Repair Services Team? There was a time I could call them up and they would help us try to save the sale/bump up the service appointment. Not anymore, I can't even get a name. Okay, I'm done. Sorry all. Appreciate those of you who still care and try everyday.

@2ve-- Another reason Amazon Prime is better than SYW. Maybe, the best reason.

Well, SYW does have some "discounts and flash deals". Sears isn't satisfied changing prices weekly or even daily anymore; some online prices have changed multiple times in a single day in recent months, much to the frustration of customers.

But you can’t use Prime at Kmart and Sears!

For some reason or another people think we control how schedules are made or get mad because we aren't just standing around. We do EVERYTHING stock, ad sets, price changes resets, and ringing registers. So I'd you have an issue do the survey and complain because they don't listen to us.

You may be young. I am 60. I remember when everything you bought at Sears was good. I remember back when Sears sold goods in large cloth bags they changed the patterns all the time because women used to make dresses from the bags. Sears was the Norman Rockwell of retail. You could just trust Sears. That simple.

@uvl Thats how bad its gotten. Yet still people worship Eddie that he is trying to save the company, but if anyone he is trying to save himself and probably his close buddies. I have seen how hours have gotten lowered each year, but oh brother its been 4 years as of now in my store I believe and we still have 3 ASM's and 1 SM only one ASM helps out time to time and the rest stay usually inside their offices complaining why certain metrics aren't being met. Yet I seen certain very important positions get cut that are paid less instead of touching the ASMs that honestly do very little compared to associates on the floor.

Also agree to me their customers in the end of the day, but I guess calling some of them members makes them feel special.

If Sears employees started massaging all the members that walked through the door, that would be a game changer and people would start coming again. And again.

Then treat them like customers. Two months ago I went to Sears for probably the first time in 10 years. I reside overseas but have a home here and needed some jeans. No sales people anywhere in sight and I looked for a bit. Finally took a couple of pair to the fitting room which took time to find. Alarms went off. I came out of the fitting room to explain to a sales person (or security) that I just wanted to try on jeans. Nobody ever came. I went back in. Alarms again. Came back out. Nobody in sight anywhere. Went back in. Alarms again. So I tried on the jeans and picked the size I wanted. Now, how to pay? Nobody at any register in sight. After searching the entire floor, I finally found the one register open and the one employee on the entire floor. Then checkout took forever. I will never go to a Sears ever again. I am sorry people are losing jobs but Sears has not much to offer to the customer. I used to buy all my appliances at Sears. Not any more. I used to buy all Craftsman tools but have now switched to Dewalt. There is no point walking into a Sears just to have an unpleasant experience. I remember when Sears was just a small storefront on our town’s Main Street. You found what you wanted in the catalog, went to the Sears store to order it and, in two or three weeks, you went back to pick it up. Sears was just part of growing up. Now it is just a waste of space at one end of the mall. Okay my rant is over.
