Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Here's some dirt...

Some of you may already know this info but I got word from someone with more 0's in their paycheck than me.

Furniture stores doing under $15m will no longer have a Store Manager. A senior lead sales manager position will be created and everyone will report to that person. The senior lead sales manager will report to the store manager of the closest Macy's store.

There is a round of tenured store manager cuts coming. Supposedly the company is losing too many of these EDP college kids and they do not want to lose their investment in them since they are "the future" so packages will be offered to VPSM in order to make space for these EDP's who are assistant store managers to finally get a VPSM spot.

Possible Asset Protection Supervisor position being created at all stores to handle the BS stuff so the OPS/APM manage doesnt have to deal with case dispositions, alarm calls, seasonal training (this is not confirmed yet).

MTM's being put in Sales Manager rotations. They will no longer come in early and be a "morning support" manager. There will now be an hourly lead who will open the building in the morning and lead a small team of signers/merchants. MTM's will be more of a sales function.

I've heard MTM position probably won't last the year.

The thought of ops managers having to answer alarm calls warms my heart.

Someone is blowing smoke up your butt with half of this stuff, specifically the MTM and the AP part.

I bet the MTMs will be thrilled with their new roll since the ones I know do everything possible to avoid customer interaction.
