Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

What's going on in IT?

From what I gathered, there were rumors going around that this week will bring carnage to IT.

Usually when layoffs happen they take place at the beginning of the week, so I'm wondering if anything has started to happen?

If anybody knows anything, can they post here, please?

IT mgrs taking voluntary severance will be severed on March 31. The rest had to submit forms outlining their skills. The selection decisions should be cimmunicated this werk or next. Those left get involuntary severance. Not sure if they can post for lesser jobs. Sometime in March we are to hear about the plans for the overstaffing in the next level down. No developers are affected. No idea if they will offer voluntary severance to those roles or just cut them. I pray for everyone affected in all offices snd roles. If leadership had cared when they should have, they wouldn't have to lie and say they care now. And please no remarks about lazy people at SF. Ive worked elsewhere not just here and there are some VERY dedicated people here who are bring gutted like fish. Shame in our leadership for not leadung wheh they should have.58

Has anyone heard if severance has been offered to IT managers and what that package may look like?

Specific set of job roles in ET designated as overstaffed. Folks in these roles (about 5000) will be in transition plan. No one knows the targeted percentage but guesses are from 10 to 25 percent. So anywhere from 500 to 1250 could be shown the door. Probably nothing but speculation until March.
