Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

If you're over 50 you aren't safe at Dell

This applies to L4 and below and not the top rungs. HR has been surreptitiously informed to go after the 50+ and high paying folks. Clean job in the offing in the next huge layoff in April.

Of all my jobs Dell was by far the worst of them all! No leadership and total lack of direction. Outdated technology and pointless meetings about nothing. Glad I found a new job that actually keeps up on technology.

In many cases this is a good move. In BDC Storage we have two senile 50+ directors who are just killing time doing nothing. They have proper technical skills forget about latest trends. They are masters in politics and abuse which they have become experts due to years of experience. What will DELL gain by these poisonous elements.

I am a millennial in a team with an average age of 40. I am basically IT support (we are not in IT) I dont even have time to do my own work. I have tremendous respect for people's experience and wisdom but learning technologies is very crucial although this is a fake tech company, we still use tech.

Canada is dead to EMC, if you have not been told yet, find that next job.

In Canada 80% at EMC are over 55 + Lots of management in the 60s just killing off good employees to keep their jobs for the next 5 years.
