Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Please Post Updates

We as affected employees need to ban together to help each other through this difficult time. Please investigate, dig, seek, confirm, obtain and post all information possible. Please share what you found from your departments and others. We need a big picture reference about what is going on across the entire enterprise. We need information to make informed decisions for our families. Waiting around for information and being kept in the dark is not an option and extremely irresponsible on our part. The more information we get and share, the better we can make personal decisions.

In times like this, WE need to form together and help each other. DO NOT sit around as if you have no power. We must complete our own due diligence. Don't look out for just yourself. That's what upper leadership wants. They want you isolated and powerless. I know it will be difficult because everything is so secret and leadership will only share small bits. The more information we obtain through other sources will benefit us all with our personal decision making.

MAKE A STAND!

And now today’s forecast: Screwed, and along for the ride with light showers of despair.

I’m Mike Tipsord (and you’re not) and I approve of this message

Clearly the person commenting is Tipsord. Or someone suffering from a mental illness.

Someone keeps entering replies on all the treads calling people whiners. I think there is no place for this type of dismissive bullying tactic and they are likely not an effected employee. Everyone have courage and keep open supportive lines of communication.

Quit b--ching. Any other company would show you the door with a memo, no warning, a cardboard box and a 2 week severance check. The entitled whining out here proves they're making good decisions about who to let go.

How about chill out. You don't really have any rights and state farm doesn't owe you anything.

I can update that the Illinois WARN notices were just posted last night for January.

https://www.illinoisworknet.com/LayoffRecovery/Pages/ArchivedWARNReports.aspx

Nothing from state farm since February 2/23/17 for 78 people on 4/30/17. After looking at the most recent WARN notice I do feel for the folks at SAMS's club.
