Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Attention all customers who post on this board

The one who complained about the slow registers at Kmart.

The fact is the registers are 16-18years old and were rolled out In 2000-2002 right before bankruptcy.

Fact: Employees have to deal with broken equipment at Kmart including registers/handhelds.

Yes, the stores need upgrades to everything but SHC is four billion dollars in debt.

Fact: It is not the employees fault that you cannot pay your layaway/credit card bill due to register issues.

Fact: You can blame vendors for out of stocks not employees. The only thing employees can do is zero out the on hands in the system and hope it comes in.

Fact: The reason you have only one register open at a Kmart is due to payroll cuts and the implimentat of the Simple Store process which mean stores are on "Life Support" and running on bare minimums. Of employees.

I would like all current employees to add to my post please.

We are keeping it simple, it's called Simple Store. Everyone gets laid off and more stores close--Simple

The comments or very true about working with old equipment

it's very slow if it work at all. I worked at Sears for 40 plus years

it's a corporate problem not a customer problem customers shop the experience

bad experiences = no customers no profits = employees no bill can be paid

and vendors leave =no merchandise this retail 101. If you do the simple thing you can

make money in retail.

Remember this KISS ( KEEP IT SIMPLE Stupid)

Get it thru your heads, it's not the Customers problem. Send your concerns to Chicago.

If you have a complaint about lack of cashiers, slow registers, low merchandise, etc., take the survey and comment about this because contrary to what people seem to think, corporate does not listen to us. I can not explain this enough for some reason, people think we control things.

These customers think the stores are so bad, but they continue to shop, nobody forcing them to buy anything. They only complain because they know these associates cant say what they really want

I am the original poster of this thread and a former SHC employee.

I created this thread to try to get customers to understand how bad things are at Sears/Kmart from a stock and IT standpoint.

The customer is NOT always right!

I feel for you. I really do. I still shop KMART but it's a struggle. Even though I know 1st hand that there's nothing you can do because I work at Sears, it is frustrating. There is no such thing as a quick trip to Kmart even if you are only buying one item.

At least you sound like you don't give attitude. Many employees at my local Kmart do.

@zlu has it exactly right. I understand and sympathize, but it's not my problem as a customer

As a paying customer, that is not my problem. My choice is to shop elsewhere.

Who cares. You are the face of this sh--hole company. Quit whining about it, do you job, or go elsewhere if you don't like it. That's what customers are doing.
