Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Hourly Sorry

I understand the uncertainty of the future in this industry, but hourlies who have been with the company for several years are scared. Scared of starting over, scared of losing a job, scared of providing for their family and losing income , and scared of the unknown for this company. Instead of being on this page asking about a position going or staying. Use your efforts to look for a more stable environment and employment at a different company. Why wait for future when in reality you have the Power to control your destiny. Jobs and leads are being cut that’s for certain. Why wait for the news. Stop asking about changes because they won’t tell you. Make your own change.

Yep Wait until they sit down with you to let you know that your position has been eliminated. Then weigh out your options, hopefully they will still give you 60 days to decide. It’s not worth worrying about, you were looking for a job when you found one at Sam’s.

Although I do agree with you on being prepared, I for one will work until otherwise I am told that there is no more need. Why would I give up my severance or a job if it truly is not going away. There is no notice because club level management does not know and if they say otherwise question it. Think about it, they only know in a few hours ahead of any visit why would they know about position eliminations any sooner?
