Thread regarding Mondelez International Inc. layoffs

My thoughts

Nobody seems to talk about the fact that frito lay has been C.A.O at both Walmart and Kroger for almost a year and still servicing store. Sure they are making some changes but will still be delivering and merchandising stores with their new structure.

Keebler is much small than Nabisco and already had Serv u doing Meijer before their changes so they had a much easier transition.

I believe dsd will be gone for Nabisco but I believe it will be 2 years from now. Absolutely don't see it happening this year.

Boy lots of weak minded nabisco employees here afraid of reality would rather continue to drink the nabisco kool aid than face reality. Like the poster suggested time to hit send on your resume and I agree with that it’s in your best interest to do so

Frito has an entirely different retail model! Their sales reps are their drivers and only service 3-4 stores per rep. They are all Union and under contract. None of this applies to us. Our drivers and most pickers are Union but they would still be driving and picking, just not for individual accounts. We have the exact same retail model as Keebler had and we are the second to go, in a chain of old and no longer profitable retail sales strategy, DSD is done! All DSD will soon cease to exist, just going one at a time. I don't believe we will make it past summer! I will be surprised if we get past end of Q1.

"And so I do want to take some time to go through this and study and see what the cost benefit equitation is for or keeping it or getting out of it. So it's part of our strategic review. We hope to have clarity near the middle of the year." Dirk Van Der Put

Middle of this year from what the article said.Frito is a whole different animal. You can't compare us to Frito. CAO is already being tested with Nabisco in certain parts of the country at Walmart and Kroger. Tags reflect warehouse sku's. I don't see us being here in 2 years.

A decision yes but actually happening will be a year or 2 away. That's how I see it anyways

Operator

Your next question comes from the line of Ken Goldman with JPMorgan.

Ken Goldman

I guess my question is on DSD. You talked about your desire to stick with it, but I guess I would ask why, just given few things right. We have the malware incident I guess exposing some of the unexpected vulnerabilities of the system. I mean your biggest competitor in U.S. biscuits is probably doing better than some feared I mean it’s hard to tell exactly how much of that is unique, because of your challenges right. We have the higher cost of transportation and some of your bigger customers are demanding much better fill rates, they’re trying to get trucks out of their parking lot. So I guess I'm curious where is the evidence that we can see on the outside anyway that DSD is really worth the what I guess would be hundreds of basis points to that segment’s operating income?

Dirk Van de Put

Well, first of all, I'm just arriving, and to make decision on these it's a pretty important decision. And on topics difficult to read what exactly is going on, we’re seeing the issues that we've been having. Overall, I think it's a powerful asset for our U.S. biscuit business. And so I do want to take some time to go through this and study and see what the cost benefit equitation is for or keeping it or getting out of it. So it's part of our strategic review. We hope to have clarity near the middle of the year. But from my perspective, it’s a bit early to make a decision on that.

Sounds like a decision will be made soon according to this q&a with the shareholders
