Thread regarding CVS layoffs

CVS is having an identity crisis.

CVS is having an identity crisis. They think they are a higher end retailer and continue to push these offerings while abandoning sale/promo loss leaders. The reality is that the stores have turned into pill mills attached to rag shops due to high turnover, low staffing, and poor store upkeep.

The idea would be to reduce promo to improve margin. At the same time hours are cut because sales decline. Improved margins + less payroll expense = additional profit. Works for short term until customers choose elsewhere to shop. Happening now.

These ideas came from the former Macy's people who have analysis paralysis.

Customer go elsewhere. Macy's people go elsewhere. Macy's stock in the sh--ter as well. CVS below 70. Helena and many others abandon ship. Bring back

Sell Front End to Target focus on Healthcare.

This is very true! The stores look so dirty. Dirty carpet, chairs in waiting area of pharmacy look disgusting! Plus all merchandise on the floor is dusty! The other day I saw 2 mice running around the store.

The bays in the pharmacy are dusty too. There isn’t any payroll to actually keep up with the maintenance. Yet when a big visit from VP’s is scheduled, DM’s are willing to splurge the hours to get store looking presentable!
