Kmart clean

I see lots of employees complain that there isn't enough staff, if there were more sales and customers there'd be more staff. Kmart is running on lower staff in order to survive until sales pickup. Fewer customers means fewer staff and it means that when the store is quiet every employee should be working hard to keep the store tidy and clean. There is no excuse. Do you think this company is going to sell more merchandise if the merchandise is dusty and dishevelled? Have some pride in your store and the work you do. You cannot control everything, but one thing you can control is how clean and tidy your store is.

@1miz "Oh and then it NEVER fails, while I’m running around in dress code with a badge, wallkie, and rmu a customer will ask “do you work here”. I just want to say “no I just like running all over the place with a Kmart name badge."

Better to ask than assume, like people keep doing to me at numerous stores where I'm trying to shop, while clearly not in dress code, have no name badge, etc. lol

@1fbe- you will be taking care of that soon. we have been told that basic maintenance is now the employee responsibility i.e. light plumbing (fixing clogs, leaks), changing tiles and lights, replacing floor tiles and cleaning carpets, painting shelves, washing windows, wiping down fixtures and chrome, cleaning gum off the floor. Cleaning crew now just vacuums, mops floor and cleans and resupplies bathrooms. Get ready its coming.

Wow. Thanks for the obvious comment. We do the best we can but you clearly have no idea what jobs we have to do on a daily basis. So I’m supposed to clean while doing the 40 online orders in the system, stock the fright that’s crammed into the back room, take phone calls cove a handful of breaks, get carts, help customers, help out at the registers, do a new layout, take pictures for corporate of some project, set up seasonal, do the different projects that someone has asked be done. Oh and attempt to get a break and lunch. Give me a f* break. I’m just happy if I can get some of that done while running around all day trying to keep the place from collapsing in on itself. Oh and then it NEVER fails, while I’m running around in dress code with a badge, wallkie, and rmu a customer will ask “do you work here”. I just want to say “no I just like running all over the place with a Kmart name badge.

If you lean you can clean. So true but what about the building itself. Water stained tiles. Tiles on floor coming up. Shelving collapsing. On and on. Employees don't take care of that.

How about they stop cutting people's hours/jobs so that they have enough people to clean up the store. Ever think of that, genius?

Our local Kmart does look a lot cleaner since they took that dilapidated, half lit sign off the building.

Finally, some corporate rah, rah I can agree with. Stores may not be modern but they can be clean.

You're in big trouble, sonny. Wait until I tell Nurse Ratched what you've been up to today.
