“Floating Managers”

What exactly is there purpose besides being just “looking” for things to tell the District Manager to try and stay relevant?? They are a waste of a position and waste of money and provide no value at ALL besides uploading pictures to our DMs instagram account or scheduling these important calls. Directors how do you allow for these people to be unaccounted for, working from home, or the golf course or not working at all. Pretty disappointed they allow this. Definitely favoritism in these positions and they have no level of accountability whatsoever.

Nope they in fact just recently promoted a GM to one in the Pacific market who was way under qualified compared to the other applicants, she almost runs the district over the DM it’s almost comical now. But again no accountability on there part they work half days, going to lunch (probably expensing” for a “business lunch” same ole same ole. Too many layers of pointless management including DMs.

Floating manager position is pointless. In the NW we have one or two and it doesn't make any sense. On top of that, we have a floating SM position. Again, doesn't make sense as they aren't actually used to do anything impactful. The DM's wouldn't know what to do without their little servants though

In most areas, this job has been done away with. I thinks DM's need to go, we never see ours in the SC market.

There are still floaters? I thought they got rid of that worthless position years ago.
